Patchwork was conceived in mind at around 2:00 AM on December 27th of 2008. Work on it began once I woke up at 9:30 AM, and the overall layout was finished that day. Patchwork is a small tribute to the minor character Blank from Square's Final Fantasy IX. Blank is a remarkable character, despite being underdeveloped and vital to one moment of the game. That one moment was all it took for me to fall in love with his character, or the insinuated character of Blank. Perhaps I like him for the possibilities of his character, since there was never any in-depth information on him in the game. One thing about him is certain, however. He is loyal beyond all belief to what he considers his family, and it is that loyalty that drew me to him.

The origins of the title "Patchwork" should be obvious to any FF9 fan. Blank is greatly underdressed in that his entire outfit consists of belts. And thats pretty much it. However, there are patches of his very skin that are sewn onto him, and they are never explained (and they are not featured on any other character). I thought it was unique to him, and chose it as a title :)

Layout

Version one! Created from a screen cap of Blank from the one CG cutscene he was featured in. It is sporadic and random, like the patchwork all over his body. That was my only idea as I was designing this. I used brushes from Moargh.de and Miss M to spice it up and make it look a little more planned than it was xD
